Kaizen

It's a Japanese word which means "continuous improvement". This concept has been created in the 50's due to the renovation in Japanese industries.

This practice aims to keep the company and the employees under continuous growth.
Kaizen’s essence is "Today is better than yesterday, tomorrow will be better than today!".
Hotel Matsubara believes in this philosophy, and therefore has been executing several improvements in the building, always looking for excellence.

To illustrate the continuous improvement in the Hotel, below there’s a list of all changes during the last four years.

In 2010:

  • Restoration of the hotel shop. (January 2010)

In 2009:

  • Placing wood carpet in the corridors of the underground (December 2009)
  • Placing carpet wood in the games room (December 2009)
  • Buy new carps to the aquarium hotel (November 2009)
  • Texture painting and new reception (November 2009)
  • Replacing the carpet of social areas on the second floor (October 2009)
  • Replacing the carpet of social areas on the first floor (September 2009)
  • Replacement of the entire floor and kitchen flooring (September 2009)
  • Buy 10 sakuras (typical plant of Japan) to the hotel garden (August 2009)
  • room fireplace receive wood flooring on the walls, in addition to new curtains and fixtures (July 2009)
  • new sofas and tables for the living room fireplace (June 2009)
  • beginning of the use of recycled bond paper (May 2009)
  • new chairs for apartments with balcony (April 2009)
  • replacement of the buffet table, tables and chairs in the restaurant, and new paint and fixtures. (March 2009)
  • Japonese ambience of a suite (February 2009)
  • thermal blanket in all apartments (January 2009)

In 2008:

  • Samurai armors (one in January and other in April 2008)
  • Transfer to downtown (February 2008)

In 2007:

  • addition of comfortable "pillows buffet" in all rooms (April 2007)
  • buy a garden Buda image sculpted in stone (July 2007)
  • Internet Café with free connection to all guests (September 2007)
  • implementation of  "maneki neko", a charming lucky cat sculpture in wood (October 2007)
  • an adorable showcase with delicate landscape elements - the "bonsais" - in the lobby (October 2007)
  • bath towels made of Egyptian cotton (November 2007)
  • LCD TV sets (December 2007)

In 2006:

  • new Flat Screen TV sets  (April 2006)
  • Japanese breakfast on Sundays (May 2006)
  • Gym room equipped with imported devices (July 2006)

In 2005:

  • DVD in all rooms (April 2005)
